Kalif Harley Davidson Raffle Winner
Todd Thomas of Erda, UT
Congratulations Todd and Thank You to all who participated
It is hard to believe that summer is over and the temple is again coming alive with numerous fall and winter activities. Your Potentate traveled over 7000 miles his past summer. Travel began in June with the the North- South Shrine Bowl in Casper combined with Korein’s ceremonial. The football game went in our favor with the North defeating the South and the trophy once again on display at the Kalif Temple. Imperial session in Indianapolis ran over the 4th of July and we had four representatives (Hanewald, Zimmerschied, Schwartz and Dunlap) and three ladies attending.
The Arkansas issue was voted on by the delagates and it was decided that you did not have to be a member of Blue Lodge to join the shrine in that state due to the ongoing riff between the Grand Master and Shriners International. The rest of the meeting was pretty uneventful for a change. July 24th was the opening of the PNSA in Lethbridge AB with four nobles (Hanewald, Schwartz, Smith and Bohnsack) and their ladies attending from Kalif Temple. The activities where fun and the parade was good. The only complaint was the high price of beer in Canada! Your Potentate and Lady Laurel next attended Grand Lodge in Evanston to honor both our Outgoing and Incoming Grand Masters. I again wish to thank Wyoming Grand Master Clarence Vranish for attending the Imperial Session of Shriners International . It was great to see the Grand Master Introduced on the stage and welcomed by our Imperial Potentate. The new Grand Master is William D. Townsend III from Newcastle and a member of Kalif Shriners. It is a great honor to have one of our own as Grand Master.
The motorcycle raffle has also kept me very busy all summer. I attended bike rallies in Thermopolis, Red Lodge and Sundance as well as a Car Rally and Third Thursday activities in Sheridan. I would like to thank all the nobles and other individuals who have helped sell raffle tickets either individually or at these events. As you all know this is our only fund raiser for the temple and raffle tickets are still available for $20 each or 6 for $100. All Shriners need to participate if we are to successfully reach our goal this year.
Oct 26th will be the fall ceremonial with a theme of Oktoberfest and I ask each noble, club and blue lodge to bring a novice. It would be great for the temple to have a positive membership gain this year. Please note the ceremonial information contained in this issue of the Kall. I hope you all had a wonderful summer and look forward to working with you again this fall.
William (Bill) Hanewald, Potentate
